Ever wanted to try out being a podcast guest? Are you a small business owner? I would love to interview you…

About Rosemary

I work with small business owners, of retail and E-Commerce focused businesses, with a community-improvement focused mission statement. My clients are new to online marketing (or way too busy and overwhelmed to do everything by themselves). Not only do I write/editing my clients’ web pages and/or blog posts; I also makes myself available for every step of the content development process, to accommodate a clientele of business owners who need a lot of one-on one attention to get results.

About the podcast

People Behind the Business is a podcast that encourages small business owners who rely on the web for income, community, and support to take a more personal, genuine approach to how they talk about their business. Its purpose and structure is simple: it’s a friendly, casual environment which allows business owners to tell the story behind their business, and share what an average day is like for them.

It’s based on the idea that people can find out the resume version of the businesses they purchase products and services from anytime, but nothing is more impactful than a face, a name, and a personality customers can relate to.

Although the podcast isn’t launching until June 2018, I’m starting to accept guests that want to be interviewed right now, to allow plenty of time to work around other peoples’ schedules, and make the episodes as awesome as possible.

Benefits

Because the podcast will be broadcasted through the Anchor FM app, guests will be published on myAnchor Page, along with automatic publishing on platforms such as ITunes, Google Play, Overcast, and PocketCasts. When the podcast launches, my blog and website will also have direct links to my podcast, so that new and returning web visitors can listen to my podcast as well.

Podcast guests will also receive marketing via my social media channels, newsletter, etc. The episode and a detailed description of the episode will also appear on my Medium Digest page.

Requirements

Guests must be small business owners that have been in business for more than a year, but still have a small team (or be doing everything themselves) and consider online marketing to be the bread and butter of how they market their business.

They must also be willing to sign up for and download the Anchor FM app on their iPhone or Android device, and create a profile (don’t worry guys, it’s free, and takes as much time and effort to set up as a Facebook profile).

The process starts with an off-air, casual screening call, not on Anchor but via Skype, Google Hangouts, or Zoom (your choice), just to get a sense of what you do, what you’re going to be talking about, etc, before sitting down and doing an interview.

Then, on the day of the interview, I’ll add your profile to my list of favourites and call you via Anchor, as soon as you indicate that you’re ready for an interview, and that’s when the recording will start.

And if you’re new to podcasting or the concept of being interviewed in general, and are a bit nervous that’s okay! Approach this as less of a scary, unfamiliar thing and more as a friendly environment where you can casually talk about what you’re best at: your business.

I’m friendly introvert that will never pressure you to be anything but yourself. FYI: no fancy equipment required, expect for a smartphone and whatever headphones you own.

Interested? Step one is to fill out the podcast potential guest questionnaire.
