When my business was very much a new thing, I made a ton of mistakes that could have been avoided if I had a bit more experience.
Then I tried something equally as new: meditation
It started after my first, bad client experience when my partner said to me:
Let’s meditate together.
At first, I wasn’t sure what to think of it all. Because I’d never meditated before.
Then, I changed my mind after my partner:
- Took my hand
- Played some white noise
- And talked me through a meditation 101 breathing exercise :
Inhale…1,2,3,4… hold your breath…1,2,3,4…exhale…1,2,3,4…repeat
After a few minutes of focusing exclusively on my breathing, I was able to process things with a clearer mind.
Months later, I was feeling nervous about getting my tetanus shot…
So I invited my partner to the appointment.
